Heights Water District Chlorination Plant Completed

by Evelyn Pyburn

The Heights Water District’s new chlorination plant will be completed by the end of the week, announced District Manager Peyton Brookshire, and staff will begin training on how to operate it.

The Heights County Water Board meeting began last Wednesday with President Ming Cabrera announcing that there would be no discussion of legal issues, referencing the suit the board has filed against Yellowstone County Commissioners and Pam Ellis, over whether Ellis is a member of the board.

Sitting at the board table were Cabrera, David Graves, Laura Drager, Brandon Hurst and Tom Zurbuchen. Ellis did not sit at the board table, although she and the County Commissioners, as well as the County Attorney Scott Twito, still contend she is a member of the board.

Ellis said that she did not sit at the board table on the advice of Melissa Williams, Civil Litigation Chief & Attorney for Yellowstone County, who is representing the county and Ellis.
