“We finally have a plan, and we are ready to execute it now,” Metra Park and Montana Fair Manager Bill Dutcher told County Commissioners on Thursday while announcing that there will be 17 days for Montana Fair this summer – 8 more days than the nine usually held every year.
Carnival rides will be the primary feature of the additional days, which will include the two weekends prior to the traditional fair dates of August 7 -15.
Fair days will begin Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 24, 25 and 26. The next week the carnival will open on Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2, and will again open on Thursday, August 6, a day ahead of the Friday that is traditionally considered a “sneak preview” to the nine-days of fair week, Friday, August 7 through Saturday, August 16. Weekdays hours will be 4 pm to 11 pm and weekends and fair week hours will be 2 pm to 11 pm.
Admission is $5 per person each day, with some special “packages” available.
Montana Fair, during the traditional week of what has always been the biggest annual event in the state, will feature besides the carnival, live entertainment and music, food vendors, fair exhibits and livestock shows.
Yellowstone County spike in Covid-19 (July 06)…Montana Fair needs to be cancelled. Just as all other state/county fairs have been this year. Protect the citizens. Don’t be stupid and greedy.
