Montana Supreme Court Rules Ballot Deadline Unchanged

HELENA, MT – The Secretary of State’s Office won the ruling granted by the Supreme Court to maintain the deadline for the return of ballots in the primary election to June 2, by 8:00 p.m.

Deputy Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen stated, “I am pleased that the voter confusion and disruption to the voting process has ended.  As has been the practice for decades, ballots will not be counted if they are not received by the 8 p.m. deadline.”

The Secretary of State’s Office requests the media retract or correct reports that were communicated otherwise.
