We’re going to keep looking out for you

Well, Folks, we’re all in this together.  I understand all of us are going to be affected in one way or another as this coronavirus pandemic will affect our pocketbooks, schools, livelihoods, normal routines, mental capacity, restaurants, airlines, etc. However, I’m optimistic that Montanans are well equipped to take on something like this compared to other big cities in the US.

As for YCN, our paper will not have any of the school pages since all the Montana schools have been ordered to close for at least two weeks.  Our weekly calendar is going to be really small as big gatherings have been suspended.

The public and government sector of the US is basically all closed down or operating on the basic essentials while the private sector is doing all they can to mitigate this temporary issue for them as well.  Due to the school closures, we have moved my staff and their computers to their homes in order to take care of kiddos while also being able to allow some flexibility to still get what needs to be done completed.  Because YCN cannot stop producing a newspaper as many of you depend on our local newspaper to deliver the local news, it will be a smaller paper this week due to moving our offices and desk home.  Please stay also tuned on our online website for other stories.

As much of this is happening fast, we’ve released some full stories online as information comes available so please be patient as I’m sure we’re all understanding the situation.

Regardless if one thinks this is to hurt Trump and our economy, it doesn’t matter.  We, together, will weather the pandemic and come out of it.  I just hope we all can take it seriously, so that our elderly residents and neighbors around us are affected to the minimal amount as possible.

Thanks for your patience.

On a bright note, we’ve got some new subscribers and new advertisers.  Also, this is our first week with legal notices coming to us from Crowley Fleck Law Firm.  We also have another law firm starting to use us as well as a third one in the transition.

Thank you to all our readers, supporters and advertisers as we transition a bit in this week’s paper.  Stay tuned online at www.yellowstonecountynews.com

Until then, keep your distance from one another and let’s social distance online for the time being.

See you in the paper.

P.S  The first person to finish this week’s Suduko and Crossword Puzzle and text it correctly to me at 406-672-5941 will win this week’s YCN Sweepstakes $20.  You can upload it on Facebook and link Yellowstone County News to it as well.
