Water district looks for new water Operator, Foss responds to Coyle’s resignation letter attacks

With pathogens in the water, the Worden-Ballantine Water and Sewer District conducted their normal monthly board meeting Monday evening while trying to continue to focus on a final plan in tackling the water issues.  At the forefront were the looming water issues that continue to plague the district and community while also now dealing with hiring a new WBYC Operator due to Rick Coyle’s controversial resignation letter, and the way it was distributed.

Board President Gary Foss made a motion to hear from the public first before going into the normal agenda.  Mark Wandle, Superintendent of Huntley Project Schools, was present to get some updates for himself and attempt to get some details and clarification from the board that will help him and the school district move forward.

At issue is what kind of final plans are moving forward since the August 2019 public meeting and the December meeting with County Commissioners, school officials and Water District members.  The ideas and concepts that were discussed with the County Commissioners were only putting forward preliminary ideas and possible concepts.

Board member Gary Fredricks took issue with Mark Wandle’s comments he made to the newspaper as Wandle was quoted saying that the school “hasn’t heard a whole lot since August,” referring to the community and public meeting that was held on August 26, 2019. Fredricks feels that the Water and Sewer board has tried to keep everyone up to date and, in the loop, even the school, of what is going on, but Wandle respectfully asked, “Then where’s the plan at?”
