Knudsen blasts Tim Fox on his record

Republican candidate for the Montana Attorney General office, Austin Knudsen, stood before the Montana GOP on Saturday, June 15th and directly stated his disappointment in the current State Attorney General, Tim Fox.

“We need an Attorney General who will stand up for Montana. Everyday I see the scourge of meth. There is a drug crisis that is our devastating state, destroying families and tearing apart our communities. Our current Attorney Generals’ office has not done enough. Homicides are up 68 percent, aggravated assaults by 30 percent, rape by 32 percent. Overall, violent crime has increased 30 percent since 2015.  We must do better.”

He promises he can and will do better. In 2010, Knudsen began four consecutive terms as the Representative for House District 34. In his second term he was elected Speaker Pro Tempore, and in his third he was unanimously chosen to be Speaker of the House. In 2015 as Speaker of the House, he successfully had a second Montana crime lab approved in Billings. As an experienced criminal prosecutor Knudsen understands wasted resources and problems within the legal system.

In April of this year, Tim Fox joined in the opposition of President Trump’s repeal of Obamacare. Knudson promised that he will stand firm in support of the President’s repeal of Obamacare. He stated he represents farmers, ranchers and small businesses of Montana. He has prosecuted criminals and will bring his experience to the office of Attorney General to ensure that, the “people of Montana are served by Helena, not the other way around.”
