Gianforte files MT gubernatorial bid

After months of speculation about his plans, Greg Gianforte has chosen to vacate his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for a shot at the Governor’s mansion in Helena.  Gianforte founded the computer software company RightNow Technologies in 1997 in Bozeman, employing over 1,000 people by 2011 before they sold to Oracle for $1.5 billion.

Gianforte previously ran for governor in 2016, when he lost to Steve Bullock by four points (19,818 votes). The next year, he ran for Montana’s House seat after Rep. Ryan Zinke left to become U.S. Secretary of the Interior, defeating Rob Quist by six points in that election. In 2018, he won his only full two-year term after defeating former state Rep. Kathleen Williams by five points. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
