Shouldn’t we expect you to do the same during your political campaign?

Dear Editor:

Mr. Fagg, because you insist on referring to yourself as “judge” during your political campaign, I would like to bring to your attention Rule 1.3 of the Montana Code of Judicial Conduct, which states “a judge should not abuse the prestige of judicial office to advance the personal or economic interest of the judge or others or allow others to do so.”

By reading the comments explaining the rule, it is black and white to me that you have in fact violated this rule.

I understand the legal professionals who have been asked to make a determination about your rule violation will not publicly announce their decision until after the June 5, 2018, election. How convenient is that?

As a professional nurse for many years, I know the importance of complying with the rules and regulations governing one’s profession. Shouldn’t we expect you to do the same during your political campaign?
