Conservatice Corner: A Shadow Campaign

Remembering a morning walk through Ann Morrison Park years ago…we move from under a canopy of trees into the bright sunshine. Our toddler son runs into the bright sunlight first. He stops. Looking at the ground he slowly lifts one foot up, then the other. He sprints in a circle looking down shouting, “Don’t like it! Don’t like it!” His mother bends down and gently asks, “Don’t like what?” He jumps into her arms and points to his shadow.

His older sister begins to laugh uncontrollably. I crack a big grin myself. This is serious business for him, though. My wife explains to him that it is just his shadow, and continues explaining by pointing out that we all have shadows, too. She states, “Look, your sister’s shadow never leaves her either.” At that point our giggling daughter begins to dance and leap around exemplifying her shadow is sticky, too. Our son then springs from the safety of his mother’s arms to see if he can outrun his shadow. All is good again.

Instinctively this moment was teaching “how to think rather than what to think.” In other words, look around for all facts supporting any supposition. Once all the facts have been gathered, and analyzed, then make your decision based on the facts, rather than based on the “fluff” of mainstream media.

This campaign season there are two shadow campaigns. That is, the candidates hide from the public under cover of mainstream media, and do nothing but pollute the airwaves with an endless stream of “fluff” campaign ads. Specifically, the VP Kamala Harris campaign and the Senator Jon Tester campaign are shadow campaigns. The goal of these shadow campaigns is to get you to believe “fluff,” and base your vote on “fluff,” rather than facts.

For example, I saw a “fluff” ad where Tester was proclaiming to have stood up to Biden and worked with President Trump. Pure “fluff,” as we all know President Trump had the border closed down, and that by aiding and abetting Border Czar Kamala Harris, Jon Tester opened the border doors again. Meanwhile, back on the ranch, Jon Tester’s true proclamation of working with President Trump is to “punch him in the face.”

These shadow campaigns are akin to the 1950’s door-to-door salesman. He knocks on all the doors and proceeds to brainwash prospective customers with a line of “fluff” to buy his gadgets. It isn’t until after he is long gone that the customer learns they own nothing more than a dust collector. VP Kamala and Senator Tester, like the door-to-door salesman, are knocking on all the “doors” of our electronic gadgets selling their “fluff”.

Also, like the door-to-door salesman, the philosophy is to distract you with “fluff” so thoughtlessly, you do as directed and vote for “fluff.” Don’t fall for this. Every time you see a “fluff” ad, ask yourself the Ronald Reagan question, “Am I better off today than I was four years ago?” Never forget that VP Kamala and Senator Tester purposefully, and relentlessly, led America down this destructive high inflation, and open border disaster.

As soon as you receive your ballot, don’t hesitate, vote your ballot that day.
