The Biden administration is going Green again

Dear Editor,

New insanity from the Democrats. The Biden administration is going Green again

despite the facts that the amount of CO2 in the air we breathe is currently only about 0.04% and is necessary for all plant life. Scientists have found plants suffer when CO2 levels approach 0.02%, and that much of the coal we burn today was from plants laid down in an historical environment of 0.06% CO2. More CO2, better crops (more food for us and animals).

Now Joe wants to ban gas stoves and furnaces because they emit CO2. All domestic heating and cooling under Biden rules would be by electricity only – electricity that comes from coal and gas fired plants emitting CO2. Having that gas available in my home for cooking and heating sounds much more economical and certainly more reliable (when the power goes out). Actually, the Energy Department has determined that natural gas is less than 1/3 as expensive as electricity on a per unit energy basis

A few years ago, the Energy Department decided that incandescent light bulbs were “bad”, and must be replaced with LED bulbs even though bright LED light is often unpleasant and doesn’t work well with dimmers. Perhaps LED bulbs are more efficient, but we could have figured that out pretty quickly. Why did some bureaucrat think he needed to out think us? As of July, incandescent bulbs will be unavailable.

Also, dishwashers and clothes washers are under review by the Energy Department for more stringent energy and water use efficiencies even though the last upgrades had serious side effects as taking twice as long to wash a load of dishes and clothes washers were delivering moldy clothes.

And now the EPA and the Energy Department have come down on air conditioners as of January. Some models are now no longer available and approved models are costing about $1000.00 more per install.
