Local Jess Lockwood wins PBR World Championships

At 22 years old, Montanan Jess Lockwood, from Volburg, Custer County, is officially the youngest bull rider to ever win multiple PBR World Championships! His first World Championship was two years ago, when he became the youngest world champion in PBR history. Lockwood went 5 for 5 coming into the final round of the 2019 PBR World Finals, rallying past Brazilian bull rider Jose Vitor Leme to win the event and shooting him to first place in the PBR world standings with 8,495 points. “I thought I was lost for words for the first one and now I literally don’t know what to say on this one. I’m just completely speechless,” Lockwood said after being presented with his PBR World Champion Trophy.
