Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Barry Mitchell confirmed this evening that 2 male drivers died in a near head on collision that happened about 6:30pm tonight. Names of the deceased were not released as of the time of this posting.
Trooper Mitchell said that it appears it was a near head on collision but investigators were still investigating the fatal accident. Highway 312 was closed to both lanes as the investigation was being completed. The Help Helicopter was dispatched but then turned around, according to the MHP trooper.
